The development of a middle range theory of subcultural delinquency through analysis of current theory

Purpose: The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze some of the noted modern theories of criminality, (2) to draw the best parts of these theories together to form a new theory of subcultural delinquency, (3) to develop a corresponding typology, (4) to make a practical application of the resulting theory and typology to corrections, and especially to the correctional officer.
