There are generational differences especially when it comes to training and learning styles. These differences must be recognized by trainers to provide successful training. Without effective training, issues arise such as officers not retaining pertinent training information which can lead to departmental and officer liability. Providing effective training requires excellent communication skills along with progressive ways to facilitate curriculum to the officers. Teaching to the strengths of the student only increases the rate of success in producing a good quality police force.
